Lifeboat comes to aid of struggling kayaker

A MAN was rescued yesterday after his kayak began to take on water in the Moray Firth close to Nairn.

The kayaker, who was uninjured, alerted the Aberdeen coastguard in a Mayday call at about 2.30pm.

A coastguard spokesman said: “The gentleman ended up in the water. A few local yachts managed to reach him, before he was rescued by the Invergordon Lifeboat.”
