Library opens new chapter in Drumbrae

A NEW library for the Capital is on track to open later this month.

The Drumbrae Library hub is due to open on January 31. Day care staff, who will be based in new offices that are part of the development, are due to move in over the next fortnight.

Following a visit to the hub, Councillor Paul Edie, the city’s health leader, said: “The staff are occupying their new offices and loving them. Also, the new ground source heat pumps are very effective, so it wasn’t just the welcome that was warm.

“I am pleased that this project has gone so smoothly. In every election I have stood in, building a library up there has been a key plank of my platform.

“It would not have happened if the Lib Dems had not been in power at the City Chambers.”

The community hub, which includes the new library, is being built as part of a £5.7 million project.
