Library fraudster awaits sentencing

AN IT boss who scammed £500,000 from the National Library of Scotland (NLS) will have to wait until next month to be sentenced.

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard that background reports ordered for David Dinham, 33, had not yet been prepared.

Dinham was snared when NLS staff spotted budget irregularities and called in police.

Dinham, of Polwarth Gardens, Edinburgh, admitted carrying out the embezzlement between September 6, 2006, and June 9, 2010.

His lawyer, Duncan Hughes, said the reports were unavailable due to Dinham's address being recorded incorrectly.

Sentencing was deferred until July 19.
