Library books up sculptures

MYSTERY book sculptures left anonymously at cultural venues across the Capital are to go on public display.

The Scottish Poetry Library, the first recipient of the unknown artist’s work, said it was planning to put on an exhibition around April.

The intricate sculptures carved out of books have included a tree, a dinosaur and birds. A note left with one of the creations in November suggested the series had reached its final chapter. It said: “It’s important that a story is not too long . . . does not become tedious.”
