Letts make a note to invest

A MAKER of historic diaries has poured more investment into its factory in Midlothian after returning from the Far East.

Letts, a family-owned firm, has invested GBP230,000 in printing technology to allow it to produce more diaries and personal organisers from its factory in Dalkeith.

The 215-year-old firm has always maintained some manufacturing in Scotland but brought its main operations back again.

Sales director Charles Letts said the new operation would provide greater stability for the 350-strong workforce.
