Lennon trial told of ‘police assault’ claim

A SUSPECT in the trial of two men who allegedly planned to kill Neil Lennon chatted about bombs being “made in a sterile unit”, saying that “nothing will get back to us” a court heard yesterday.

Trevor Muirhead was said to have made to the comment to his 24 year-old son Gordon.

A jury heard Gordon Muirhead told detectives of the remark, but he yesterday denied making the claim and alleged police had assaulted him during his interview.

The High Court in Glasgow heard Gordon Muirhead spoke to police last May where he recalled asking his dad where “bombs” had been made.

The accused is said to have replied: “There are getting made in a sterile unit. Nothing will get back to us.”
