Leith FM makes waves with tests

EDINBURGH'S revived community radio station was beginning broadcast testing this weekend ahead of a full launch in summer.

Leith FM, which has been awarded a five-year licence, were sending out some test transmissions today, expected to be made up of "legacy recordings".

Station chairman Stewart Lochhead and his team are aiming towards a May launch, and a transmitter has been erected on top of a block of flats in Leith. It will broadcast on 98.8 FM.
