Laptop and archery set amongst items stolen from Clerk Street house

A LAPTOP and archery set were among the items worth more than £1000 stolen from a house in Edinburgh recently.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the theft from a property at an address in Clerk Street which happened sometime between 8.05am and 7.05pm on Wednesday.

The occupant returned to find her home had been entered and an Acer laptop along with an archery stolen.

Police are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquires to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to speak with two men who were seen within the common stair at around 6pm yesterday evening and ask for anyone who recognises their description to come forward.

Both men are described as white, 5ft 8ins tall with thin builds, dark hair and wearing dark clothing.

The archery set, which contained a red 6ft bow, six black arrows and 10 grey carbon arrows, is valued at around £700 while the laptop is valued at around £450.

Sergeant James Berry said: “We are still trying to establish how those responsible for this theft gained entry to the property and are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious within the stairwell.

“Similarly, anyone who can help identify and trace the two men who were within the close yesterday evening is also asked to get in touch.”
