Lapdance boss banned from sale over crime claims

A LAPDANCE tycoon has been banned from selling his clubs amid claims his assets come from crime.

Prosecutors have obtained court orders under proceeds of crime legislation which means Steven MacDonald, 50, cannot sell the Baby Dolls lapdancing club in Edinburgh, Diamond Dolls in Glasgow or the Club Earth nightclub in Livingston.

Mr MacDonald is secretary of the company, which owns the buildings where the clubs are based.

Mr MacDonald says the proceeds of crime claims are without foundation and he is a victim of a vendetta.

He said: “I believe there is an agenda orchestrated by elements of the Scottish Government to smear our industry.”
