Ladies set for last driving challenge

THE Ladies Driving Challenge is taking to the road for the last time in September after ten years raising funds for charity.

More than £140,000 has been raised for Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland through the annual adventurous event, which will be held at the Royal Highland Showground, Ingliston, on September 2.

Andrea McIntyre, CHSS regional fundraising manager, said: “The LDC is a really fabulous event largely due to the ‘up for a challenge’ attitude that the ladies bring along and the amazing encouragement that the vehicle drivers and event helpers provide to ensure everyone masters their driving challenges.

“Getting to grips with these monster vehicles is amazing. Participants will be able to try their hand at manoeuvring a monster articulated truck, getting behind the wheel of a
double-decker bus or a fire engine, whizzing around off-road on a quad bike or digging a hole with a JCB.”

Teams of up to four women are still being invited to sign up for the fundraising event by calling 0300 12 12 999 or e-mailing [email protected].
