Korfballers raise cash

The Capital’s korfball team has raised £300 for a charity that fights homelessness.

Around 30 men and women from the oldest and largest team in the city that plays the Dutch sport raised the money at a race night in aid of Shelter Scotland.

Korfball, which has similarities to netball and basketball, was founded in the Netherlands in 1902 and is now played in 57 countries.

Edinburgh City Korfball Club’s Zoe Holliday said: “It was a great event. We got the opportunity to gather for a very worthy cause.”
