Knifeman is hunted after shop hold–up

Police are hunting an armed robber who stole a three-figure sum of money from a shop.

The man went into the store in Livingston, West Lothian, and held up a knife, demanding cash from the two members of staff.

He made off in a dark-coloured vehicle which was parked at a bus stop in Dedridge West Road.

The robbery took place at the Spar Store at 17 Crofthead Centre in the town at around 6:50pm on Saturday.

A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police appealed for information and asked witnesses to come forward.

He said: “Given the time of evening and the location the robbery took place, there are potentially a number of people who were within the area, or at nearby fast-food outlets, who can help with inquiries.”
