Kirsty set for the high life

SHE'S a self-confessed girly shopaholic whose closest brush with climbing has been navigating the mountain of designer shoes in her closet.

Now Kirsty McLaughlin is to swap her collection of more than 200 pairs of flimsy high heels for sturdy walking boots to scale Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro, dressed head to toe in pink.

She is pictured in training with instructors Barry Marsh and Richard Kerr.

The Standard Life PA is taking part in September's climb in aid of city children's charity CCLASP, hoping to raise 10,000.
