Felix McKeown was jailed for eight years and three months after he was convicted of causing the death of a teenager in 2007 by dangerous driving and given a 15-year driving disqualification.
But last month McKeown, 29, was caught driving after he was given a week's leave from Castle Huntly open prison.

Hide AdMcKeown, of Rochsoles Drive, Airdrie, was convicted of driving while disqualified and without insurance at the Lanarkshire town's Stirling Road on 4 October. The judge said he would make no order but send the case back to a sheriff to sentence McKeown, later this week, for the new offences.
But he called on the prison authorities to note what had happened on the home leave.
