Keeper’s baby panda hopes

The head keeper of Edinburgh Zoo’s giant pandas has revealed her New Year wish is for the couple to have babies.

Alison Maclean, who has been in charge of helping the pandas settle into their new home, said that she is hoping they will give the Capital a baby panda.

“My wish for the giant pandas in 2012 is probably the same as everyone else – babies. I’m hopeful, but it will happen if and when the pandas are ready. There’s plenty of time though, as they’re with us until 2021.”
