John reveals ins and oats

WORLD champion porridge maker John Boa is to reveal the secret of his dish on television tonight.

The Edinburgh Gaelic singer appears in the light-hearted BBC Alba documentary which traces the evolution of porridge from humble Scottish meal to foodie breakfast of choice.

Mr Boa, 50, of Tollcross, won the coveted Golden Spurtle World Porridge Championship in October.

The keen cyclist has twice cycled between Land’s End and John o’ Groats.

He said: “I was undoubtedly helped along the way by a morning intake of porridge.”
