ONE of Scotland's most famous tourist landmarks will take centre stage for a final moment of glory before undergoing a major facelift.

The iconic John O'Groats Hotel will form the centre piece of Transform, a weekend of arts events next month.

The building, which will be redeveloped as part of a project to revamp the village, will be used as a canvas for a major 3D artwork by artisits, including DUFI Art based near Tain. The derelict hotel is owned by Heritage GB which also owns Land's End and is behind plans for a 6 million upgrade of John O'Groats with luxury short break specialist Natural Retreats.
