Jobs service gets to work

A SERVICE to help people with mental health problems find or stay in employment has been launched in Midlothian.

The Services in Training for Employment in Midlothian (STEM) service will help people with a mental health condition return to work, stay in work or gain work for the first time.

An employment officer will give one-to-one support and guidance.

Midlothian Council’s spokesman for adult and community care, Councillor Jackie Aitchison, said: “This one-to-one approach is proven to be very effective.

“Providing a single point of contact can deliver major benefits to both the employment officer and the client.”
