Jail for surgeon after student sex attack

A SURGEON who launched a sex attack on a student nurse on a bus in the grounds of a hospital was behind bars last night.

Sandeep Patonde attacked the woman on a bus between Dundee city centre and Ninewells Hospital last September. The orthopaedic surgeon grabbed her top and tried to look down it before putting his hands on the terrified nurse’s thighs.

Patonde followed the woman back towards her residence, grabbing hold of her and branding her an “idiot” for being scared of him, then trying to kiss her.

A sheriff at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday remanded Patonde ahead of sentencing, told him he faces jail and accused him of “trying to buy his way out of custody” for having £2,000 in his pocket in an attempt to compensate his victim.
