Islands hit by power cut

A POWER cut has affected every property in the Western Isles and Isle of Skye.

Scottish Hydro said electrical supplies failed at about 12:45pm yesterday following a series of trips in the high-voltage network.

Engineers were last night investigating the cause of the fault and attempting to restore power.
