Investment comes out of the Blues

MUSICIANS are being brought off the Fringe and plunged straight into the thick of it after new funding was made available.

Capital band The Blueswater, whose performance at the festival last summer saw them collect a Mervyn Stutter Spirit of the Fringe award, said The Made in Scotland scheme would provide a huge boost.

Since 2009, £1.6 million has been given to 56 productions, but now the funding is set to be expanded, with an extra £100,000 available this year.

Felipe Schrieberg, from The Blueswater, said: “With this kind of funding, we can put together a more ambitious show.”
