Investigation launched after cash stolen from Skye charity shop

POLICE are investigating the callous break-in and theft of cash from a charity shop on Skye.

Thieves struck at the Highland Hospice shop in Portree between Saturday evening and Monday morning.

A Northern Constabulary spokesman said a quantity of cash was stolen and damage was cause d to the property in Park Road.

He added: “It is particularly disappointing that a shop raises money for well regarded charitable work and which is staffed mainly by volunteers, would be targeted in this way.”
