Injured rally fan speaks of accident

ONE of four motorsport fans injured at the weekend after being hit by a rally car has spoken of his hope that the accident will not put anyone off the sport.

David Tait, from Glasgow, and three others were seriously hurt on Saturday at the Granite City Rally in Aberdeenshire, when they went to the aid of a driver whose car had come off the road and were hit by another rally car. One of the four men, Joe Bolger, 56, remains in a critical condition in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Mr Tait wrote on a rally website: “I hope both crews are okay and it doesn’t put them off of the sport.”
