A BOMB outside a temple in northern India has killed a child and injured several Hindu worshippers and foreign nationals.

It was left at a bathing point outside the temple in the pilgrim city of Varanasi and went off about the time of evening prayers. India is jittery about militant strikes, especially since the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
