Human remains found on mountain in the Cairngorms

Human remains have been found on a mountain, police said.

The discovery was reported to emergency services at about 3.30pm yesterday.

The man’s remains were found on Braeriach in the Cairngorm Mountains.

Northern Constabulary officers were assisted at the scene by Cairngorm Mountain Rescue Team and an RAF search and rescue helicopter.

Inquiries are under way to establish the man’s identity.
