Housing survey to cost £90k

UP TO £900,000 is to be spent on an extensive survey of all council houses in Edinburgh.

The city council has advertised the contract for a consultant to survey all 19,601 council-owned domestic properties.

The purpose of the survey is to identify how each property complies with the Scottish Housing Quality Standard.

The findings will also inform the council's approach to programming work that is to get all homes up to the required national standard by 2015.
