Housebuilder named for Craigs Rd scheme

PLANS for a £3.9 million housing scheme in Craigs Road have taken a step forward after the housebuilder recruited to complete the project was named.

The 42-apartment development, set to be completed in January 2013, will be constructed by Lovell.

The Places for People Group project will offer 24 homes for affordable rent and 18 homes for mid-market rent.

Councillor Paul Edie, city housing leader, said: “These new homes are further proof of this council’s commitment to tackling the affordable housing shortage in Edinburgh.

“This development is an excellent example of the mixed, sustainable communities that are being built all across the city, creating jobs and delivering affordable housing during these difficult economic times.”
