Hotel plans face scrutiny

A PUBLIC consultation is being held on plans for a new £20 million hotel on the site of an empty office building in the north of the Capital.

The De Vere Group has unveiled plans for a 120-bedroom hotel, health club, business facilities, restaurant and cafe at Helix House, near the Western General Hospital.

The consultation events take place at Morrisons in Pilton Drive from 2pm to 6pm on Friday and at Helix House the next day from 10am to 1pm.

Ian Kettlewell, of planning consultancy Nathaniel Lichfield & Partners, said: “This development will regenerate an important site.”
