Hotel group's £118,000 for city charities

CRERAR Hotels is giving £118,000 to Capital charities.

The hotel group donates funding every quarter to charitable organisations and in 2009 gifted more than 400,000 to charities across the country.

The Edinburgh charities include The Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neurone Disease, which gets 60,820.

Crerar is also donating 25,000 to the Hospitality Industry Trust to help fund the scholarship programme for hospitality industry students.

Scotland Yard Adventure Centre, which provides an outdoor adventure play facility in Edinburgh for disabled young people, will receive 11,500.

Garvald Edinburgh, which accommodates and supports adults with disabilities will receive 5,000 to upgrade, the furnishings at the Napier Road Community House.

And Hearts and Minds, which aims to improve the quality of life and well-being of people in hospital, hospices, residential or respite care, will receive 4,000 towards the Clowndoctors Programme aimed at children.
