Hospital phone plans on line

FRESH proposals have been put on the table by the firm which runs patient telephones at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.

Hospedia said it was looking to offer relatives and friends of patients cheaper calls into the hospital.

Last month, the organisation revealed it had put packages together to allow certain patients free, unlimited calls from the ward. Now it is set to present these proposals to the Scottish Government.

A spokesman said: "In today's economic climate reducing charges for the general public will be received positively by people in Edinburgh."
