Hopes of rail service boost

HOPES for an improved rail network in East Lothian have been given a boost by Scotland’s transport minister.

Keith Brown MSP visited the mothballed East Linton station and met East Lothian Council leader Paul McLennan, MSP Iain Gray, a local rail action group and members of SEStrans to hear the case for restoring the defunct stop.

Councillor McLennan said he hoped a ScotRail consultation report expected in late summer would include the delivery of a new station for East Linton.
