Honour for Edinburgh scientist

AN ASTROPHYSICIST from the University of Edinburgh has been short-listed for a fellowship scheme that celebrates women in science.

Dr Catherine Heymans is one of just eight people nominated for the 2010 L'Oral UNESCO UK and Ireland For Women In Science Fellowships.

She has been short-listed for her work to determine how dark matter is distributed throughout the universe, and could win a 15,000 fellowship, which she hopes to use on field visits.
