Homelessness workers are film’s focus

A HOMELESSNESS charity has told its story in a new film broadcast on a national television channel.

Streetwork, which offers support and other services to the homeless, featured in a programme presented by Channel 4 news’ Jon Snow on the digital Community Channel.

The charity, which spends 84 hours every week on the streets of the Capital, worked with volunteer filmmaker Jonathan Ley, from Blue Iris Films, to tell the story of its work.

Head of services at Streetwork, Claire Gibson, said: “Our staff work tirelessly to bring alive our mission of enabling a life off the streets, and working with professional filmmakers was an excellent way to celebrate their achievements. We hope the film highlights the issue of homelessness and lets people hear about the work that takes place to end it.”
