Homelessness charity set to sell calendar

HOMELESSNESS charity Streetwork is to raise funds with its first charity calendar.

The calendar will be launched in partnership with the National Mining Museum Scotland at Lady Victoria Colliery on Monday.

Sophy Green, CEO of Streetwork, said: “Through research, visits to the National Mining Museum and working with staff there, individuals from this project worked together to explore their common connections with the mining industry and this resulted in the Social History calendar.”

Members of the group took photographs and also used archive images provided by the museum to create the calendar.

Streetwork Support Worker, Wiola Calcutt added: “The enthusiasm and input of the staff at the Museum has been a very positive factor in the production of this calendar. The individuals involved can see their work result in something they can be proud of.”

It will go on sale from Monday at the museum and at Captain Taylor’s Coffee House on South Bridge, for £4.99.

All profits will go to help Streetwork’s work with vulnerable people in Edinburgh.
