Home of Golf buys painting
A TWO-centuries-old watercolour showing two boys playing golf on the world’s oldest operational course, the Old Links of Musselburgh, has been snapped up by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews.
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club, based at the Home of Golf, revealed yesterday that it purchased the painting.
Angela Howe, The R&A’s museum and heritage director, said: “We are delighted to have secured a work of art that is important to both the history of Scottish art and golf.”
