Hoax MP tells of giveaway

A MAN who posed as Edinburgh West MP Mike Crockart in a BBC radio interview has admitted he was surprised the corporation didn't spot his Mancunian accent.

Paul Leatherbarrow, 27, a construction worker, said he had been called by the BBC on his mobile and asked if he could go on air.

Asked whether he would resign over the issue of student fees, Mr Leatherbarrow replied: "It's not so much I am going to resign. I am prepared to resign."
