Hit-and-run youth 'serious'

A TEENAGER was in a serious condition in hospital yesterday after a hit and run in Glasgow city centre.

The 17-year-old, who was out with a group of friends, was crossing St Vincent Street, near Hope Street, and was hit by a car which failed to stop at around 11:10pm on Wednesday night.

He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and was later transferred to the Southern General Hospital where he was in a "very serious" condition yesterday.

The car, a dark-coloured hatchback, continued up St Vincent Street after the incident.
