Hillend charity ski-a-thon set for Easter Monday

TWO friends from the Capital are to take part in a non-stop ski-a-thon to raise funds for a major children’s charity.

Robert Herschell, 37, and Jade Hawthorne, 20, will ski the runs at Hillend from 9am until 9pm on Monday, with proceeds going to
Children 1st.

The charity runs 46 local and four national services in Scotland which work with vulnerable children and their families. Robert said: “I decided to take up this fundraising challenge after supporting the charity at a recent Scottish rugby match.

“I was inspired by the Children 1st newsletter which showed some of the great work the charity undertakes.”

He added: “Children and families all around Scotland are facing difficult times – abuse, financial hardship, the stresses or parenting. It’s important that Children 1st exists.”
