High-speed bid ‘too slow’

PLANS for a high-speed rail link between Edinburgh and Glasgow are crawling along at a snail’s pace, Liberal Democrats have claimed.

The Lib Dems say a parliamentary question has revealed that Transport Scotland officials have had more than 130 meetings about a high-speed rail link, yet no cost or route has been agreed.

Scottish Lib Dem transport spokesman Tavish Scott said: “This project is crawling along at a snail’s pace. We must have confirmation of which stations are to be used.”
