Childcare costs in Scotland are amongst the highest in Britain with some parents facing bills of nearly £12,000 a year, according to children’s charities.

A report by the Daycare Trust and Children in Scotland has found a “postcode lottery”, with some local authorities charging twice as much as others for child daycare.
Their Scottish Childcare Lottery report found nursery prices as high as southern England in some areas.
