The former lumberjack from Wester Hailes travelled to Hampden after being given a ticket by club bosses.
His son-in-law Jim Simpson, 59, said Sam was delighted to see the boys in green beat Rangers 3-2.
He said: “Lots of people recognised him and were coming up to chat.
“He had a big smile on his face when Hibs won. He’s waited years for this, it will mean the world to him.”
