It is alleged that the group engaged in behaviour “likely to incite public disorder” by forming part of a disorderly crowd, and ran towards members of the public, shouting and challenging others to fight.

It is claimed that Daryl Petrie, Stuart Wilson, Jack Wilcox, Jamie Murray and Darren Graham behaved as outlined in Paisley’s High Street, on February 16, while en-route to a fixture between St Mirren and Hibernian Football Clubs.

When Petrie, 28, of Alnwickhill View, Liberton; Wilson, 21, of Clackmae Road; Wilcox, 20, of Telford Road; Murray, 16, of Slateford Gait and Graham, 22, of Vexhim Park, all Edinburgh, denied the charge against them, Sheriff Derek Livingston ordered them to return to court for an intermediate diet on August 15 followed by a trial on September 2.

The case against a sixth accused, Stephen McGurk, 37, of Alan Breck Gardens, Edinburgh, who is charged with the same offence, was continued without plea to give the Crown an opportunity to make contact and ascertain how he intends to proceed, when he failed to respond to the complaint.
