Heroin worth £25k seized in Dundee

HEROIN with an estimated street value of £25,000 has been recovered by Police Scotland’s Organised Crime and Counter Terrorism Unit following an operation in Dundee city centre.

A 22-year-old local man was arrested and has been subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs as a result of the seizure and is expected to appear at the city’s Sheriff Court later today.

The heroin was seized during an operation carried out by the specialist unit on Wednesday night.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A 22-year-old local man was arrested and subsequently charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. He is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.”

Temporary Detective Inspector Scott Thompson said:“The action taken here again demonstrates our determination to disrupt the flow of drugs into Dundee and Tayside and to make our communities inhospitable and hostile places for those people who seem intent on profiting on the misery of others.
