Chief Inspector Mike Whitford, Police Scotland’s local area commander for Perth, said: ‘‘Drugs are being misused and dealt in Perth as they are in towns and cities across the UK, but we will use all means at our disposal to cause the maximum disruption at every level of this illicit trade.”

He continued: “Drug dealers are parasites who seek only to line their own pockets and profit from people who are invariably struggling on the margins of existence. We will continue with our relentless focus on these criminals to leave them in no doubt that the streets of Tayside are not hospitable for them. We will catch them and we will put them before the courts.’’
