Hearts “sickened” by administration reports

HEARTS have today angrily denied claims the club is on the verge of plunging into administration.

Some reports suggested bosses at the Tynecastle club had told staff to prepare for the worst at a meeting this morning.

The development came in the wake of Vladimir Romanov stepping down from the board of UBIG, the investment company which runs Hearts.

In a statement released this afternoon, a Hearts spokesperson said: “We are sickened and disgusted by such unsubstantiated content. Articles such as this which have no factual basis, show a complete ignorance of the facts and reflect very badly on the profession of journalism.

“It is a straight-forward shameless act to destabilise the club and we will consider applying for legal advice to seek justice and damages for the business.”
