Hearts given 2000 tickets for Anfield

Hearts have been handed 2000 tickets for the club’s glamour trip to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Europa League play-off round.

The Tynecastle club has confirmed that briefs for the Euro trip will go on sale on Tuesday at 10am, available on a first come, first served basis to fans with 103 or more loyalty points.

Adult tickets for the second leg on August 30 will cost £20, over-65s will pay £15, while under-16s will pay £5.

Hearts warned fans: “Demand for the tickets is likely to be extremely high, supporters are advised to secure their tickets sooner rather than later to avoid missing out.”

Meanwhile, the Jambos are approaching a sell-out for Thursday evening’s home leg against Liverpool, with fewer than 100 tickets left for the showdown.

The News told earlier this week how Liverpool fans had vowed to “paint the town red” when they arrive in the Capital.

Les Wright, away fans’ representative on the Liverpool FC Supporters’ Committee, said: “Edinburgh will be mobbed before the game. A lot of Liverpool fans will pay whatever it takes to get to the match.”
