A CONSORTIUM holding talks to take over Hearts has won the backing of 1998 Scottish Cup final hero Stephane Adam.

Foundation of Hearts unveiled the French forward as a supporter on its website yesterday. Adam scored the second goal in a 2-1 triumph over Rangers at Celtic Park to lift the cup.

In a statement announcing his support for Foundation of Hearts, he said: “It is obvious to everyone that Heart of Midlothian is going through the most difficult period of its existence.

“The mistakes made in recent years have taken the club into an extremely serious situation.

“It seems to me that the Foundation of Hearts has the desire and possesses the expertise to bring this project to completion.

“I look forward to a bright future and I can assure the Foundation of Hearts of all my best wishes and support.”
