Health service office workers on the move

OFFICE workers for NHS Lothian will move into new premises in the city centre by June.

The project to transfer administration staff from the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary to the Waverley Gate building has been approved by the Scottish Government.

They will be moved to make way for 50 new beds at the ERI, which has been forced to keep winter wards open during the summer in recent years amid rising patient numbers.

NHS staff will occupy the second and part of the fifth floor of the plush property from 28 June.

There are also plans to move other staff into space at the Scottish Government's Pentland House building in Chesser.
