Groups bag cash from mall owner

Community groups in West Lothian have received funding from the Alliance to Reward Initiatives and Social Enterprise (ARISE).

Grants have gone to the West Lothian Disabled Ramblers, Carers of West Lothian, West Lothian Handball Development Group, West Lothian Young Carers, Newland Brass Junior Band and Bellsquarry Woodland Work Group.

ARISE is funded by Land Securities, owners of The Centre in Livingston. The Centre director James Bailey said: “When ARISE was set up, our aim was to provide funding for initiatives that will improve the quality of life for people living in West Lothian.

“We were impressed with the number of applications and the scope of voluntary work being carried out in the area. The groups benefiting from this round of funding will be able to improve and develop their projects and we are thrilled to be able to assist.”

Applications are now being received for 2012. For details or to request an application form, contact Suzanne Hart at Beattie Communications on 01324 602571 or e-mail [email protected].
