Great British art on display at City Art Centre

DOZENS of works by some of the greatest British artists of the 20th century go on display at the City Art Centre from today.

The Derek Williams Trust Collection has works by LS Lowry, Henry Moore, John Piper, Ceri Richards and Ivon Hitchens. Derek Williams, a Cardiff surveyor, built a collection before his death in 1984.

Richard Lewis, the city’s culture leader, said: “We are very pleased to bring such a fine collection of British art to the City Art Centre.”

The exhibition is free and runs until February 24.
